Today was a bit hectic. My co-worker who shares running the midwife's office where I work was called to a birth and I had to cover for her. I had no childcare so I had to make the best of it with my son who is not quite five years old. I also had to see one of the midwife's clients for a postpartum visit and get a weight on the three day old baby. Normally this is fun and cute but my son was pretty much over the whole day and beyond tired so he was bouncing around the house, touching everything, and getting a little too close to the newborn for the mother's comfort level. Expecting a four and a half year old to "sit nice and play quietly" all by themselves all day is just unrealistic and a promissory note for a resentment from both the child and the expecting party. For the most part though, my son was very helpful and made the best of it.
Anyway, I am just checking and now I must go to bed.
Nighty night,

My sister had a baby girl yesterday!! First in my family :) It was a natural birth... she waited at home until she was 9cm to go to the hospital. She went in at 7:15am and Chancey Lee was born at 9:45am. AMAZING! I am so glad she had a natural birth.. and proud of her!
ReplyDeleteShe is a nurse by day, now mamma by night. She knows all about hospitals and doctors and maternity. She swore that she would do it her way and not listen to anyone else.
It is awesome that it worked out that way.
Happy Happy Joy Joy :)
Wow! That is so awesome! I love to hear stories like this. Congratulations to you on your new niece and congratulations to your sister for doing right by herself. Happy Birthday to the little angel too.
